Hides sit in oak and chestnut bark for six weeks. Slow, expensive, and the only way leather ages instead of cracking.

The patina
Sun, oil and use darken it from pale tan to deep honey in a year. No two wallets end up the same colour.
Care
Nothing for the first year. After that, a little leather balm when it looks thirsty.
